Data

What data we process

We only process data required for your treatment, billing and practice operations:

  • Basic data: name, date of birth, address, phone number, email address
  • Insurance data: health insurer, insurance number, payer
  • Health data (sensitive personal data): history, findings, images, laboratory and ultrasound results, prescriptions, surgical reports
  • Appointment data from online booking
  • Correspondence with you and with co-treating or referring providers
  • Technical data when visiting the website (see the website section)
Purpose

Why we process data

  • Examination, diagnosis, treatment and follow-up
  • Appointment scheduling and reminders
  • Billing to you, your insurer or a billing service
  • Compliance with legal obligations (documentation, retention, reporting duties)
  • Quality assurance and practice organisation

The legal basis is the treatment contract with you, statutory obligations and – where required – your explicit consent (e.g. for publishing images or sharing data with third parties not involved in your treatment).

Sharing

Who receives your data

Data is shared only where necessary for your treatment, legally required or explicitly requested by you:

  • Laboratories and pathology (including Viollier) for analyses
  • Co-treating and referring physicians, hospitals and midwives
  • Radiology and other diagnostic providers
  • Health insurers or billing services for invoicing
  • IT providers for practice software and the booking platform, bound by confidentiality and data-processing agreements

Medical findings are exchanged via secured channels (HIN-encrypted correspondence). Data is never shared for advertising purposes.

Retention

How long we keep data

Medical records are retained for at least ten years after the last treatment in accordance with statutory and professional requirements; obstetric records are kept correspondingly longer.

Accounting records are kept for ten years. Data is securely deleted or destroyed afterwards.

Website

Website, cookies and embedded services

When you visit this website, technically necessary data is processed (IP address, date and time, page requested, browser type). It serves secure operation and is not used for profiling.

We do not use advertising trackers. The following services are embedded and may transmit data to their providers when the relevant page is opened:

  • Doctena (online booking, reviews)
  • Google Maps (directions map on the contact section)
  • My Viollier (link to your laboratory results)

The privacy policies of the respective providers apply to these services.

Please do not send sensitive health data by unencrypted email. For confidential exchanges we use HIN-secured correspondence.

Measurement

Google Tag Manager and consent banner

This website uses Google Tag Manager (Google Ireland Limited). The Tag Manager administers measurement and marketing tags; your IP address may be transmitted to Google in the process.

Control is handled via Google Consent Mode v2 with four categories:

  • Analytics storage – storage, such as cookies, related to analytics
  • Ad storage – storage, such as cookies, related to advertising
  • User data – sending user data to Google for online advertising purposes
  • Personalisation – personalised advertising

For visitors from the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom, all four categories are disabled before consent is given. For Switzerland and the rest of the world they are enabled by default and can be declined.

Your choice is stored locally in your browser (keys «cookie_consent» and «cookie_consent_categories») and can be withdrawn or changed at any time with effect for the future via the «Cookie settings» link in the footer of every page.

Hosting

How this website is operated

This website is operated by a hosting provider based in Sweden (EU) and delivered via the edge network of Cloudflare, Inc. (USA). This may involve disclosure of technical connection data (in particular your IP address) abroad.

Such disclosure is based on the EU standard contractual clauses and the corresponding Swiss provisions.

Server logs (IP address, timestamp, user agent, requested URL) serve technical operation and security and are kept for a maximum of 30 days.

Form

Contact and appointment requests via the website

If you use the form on this website, your details (first and last name, email address, optionally phone number, selected concern and your message) are sent by email to the practice only. No form entries are stored in a website database.

We use the service Resend (Resend, Inc., USA) as a processor to send the confirmation and notification emails. Transfer is based on the EU standard contractual clauses and the corresponding Swiss provisions.

Please do not send medical details or findings through the form. Once received, your request is handled in the practice mailbox under the usual retention rules.

Confidentiality

Medical confidentiality

All members of the practice team are bound by professional and medical confidentiality under Art. 321 of the Swiss Criminal Code.

Medical data is disclosed to third parties – such as insurers or co-treating physicians – only with your explicit consent or where required by law.

Your rights

Access, correction, deletion

You may at any time request information about the data we process about you, have inaccurate data corrected, obtain a copy or transfer of your data, and request deletion where no statutory retention obligation applies.

Consent you have given can be withdrawn at any time with effect for the future.

Please submit your request to the practice in writing. To protect your data we must verify your identity.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC), Feldeggweg 1, 3003 Bern (www.edoeb.admin.ch).

Security

Data security

We protect your data with technical and organisational measures: encrypted transmission, restricted access, secured practice software, locked filing cabinets and the confidentiality obligation of all staff – which continues beyond the end of employment.

This website uses SSL/TLS encryption throughout. You can recognise an encrypted connection by the “https://” prefix in your browser's address bar.

Changes

Updates to this statement

We reserve the right to adapt this privacy statement to changes in the law or in our services. The version published on this page applies.
