Cost coverage for medical services is governed by statutory provisions and by your personal insurance contract.
Below you will find the most important information about billing at our practice.
Basic insurance (Grundversicherung)
Medically necessary gynaecological and obstetric examinations and treatments are billed in accordance with the statutory provisions via mandatory health insurance (basic insurance, OKP).
Your personal deductible and the statutory co-payment apply.
Billing is generally handled directly via Ärztekasse to your health insurer. You automatically receive a copy of the invoice for your information.
Gynaecological prevention
For unremarkable findings, basic insurance covers the gynaecological preventive check-up every three years.
If more frequent check-ups are medically necessary due to complaints, pre-existing conditions or abnormal findings, billing is likewise carried out via basic insurance.
Some supplementary insurance plans cover, or contribute to, the cost of additional preventive check-ups.
Whether and to what extent cost coverage applies depends solely on your personal insurance contract. Please clarify this directly with your insurer before your appointment.
Supplementary insurance
Supplementary insurance plans differ considerably in terms of the benefits they cover.
Please clarify with your insurer directly before your appointment whether a desired examination or treatment is covered.
We cannot provide binding information about your insurance coverage and do not handle cost guarantee requests or correspondence with insurers.
On request, we are of course happy to provide you with the necessary invoices or documents for your insurer.
Self-pay services
Not all services are covered by basic insurance. These include, for example:
- ·aesthetic treatments
- ·laser treatments
- ·elective services without medical indication
- ·certificates and attestations, unless legally required cost coverage applies
- ·other expressly agreed private services
These services are billed directly to you.
We will of course inform you of the resulting costs before treatment.
Laboratory invoices
Laboratory examinations are performed by our partner laboratory, Viollier.
For laboratory analyses you will receive a separate invoice directly from the laboratory.

For medical questions about a billed service, or if Ärztekasse refers you to us, our practice team is of course happy to help.
Please direct questions about cost coverage by your basic or supplementary insurer directly to your health insurer. Only your insurer can bindingly assess which services are covered under your personal insurance contract.
Invoices rejected by your insurer
If your insurer has rejected an invoice, we review it for factual or tariff errors and reissue it corrected where that applies. A self-pay service cannot be converted retrospectively into a basic-insurance service. For this administrative work we charge a flat fee of CHF 30. This keeps our front-desk time free for appointments and medical questions – we kindly ask for your understanding.
